WHY THE CHURCH OF

AMERICA IS FAILING

All things are laid bare before Him of whom we “must” give account. How can we even deceive

ourselves why we don’t have revival? It is all around us and in our life’s, hidden sin! There is no

escaping that awful and dreadful day Church! God is crying out to you: “I know your works” be

zealous therefore and repent. - Greg Gordon

PREACHING NEEDED

A T R U M P E T B L A S T T O T H O S E T H A T H AV E P L U G G E D T H E I R E A R S !

Leonard Ravenhill said 20 years ago: “We are on the edge of disaster, we on the edge of wrath.” Oh to

realize how close we are to the judgement of God in America and Canada. The last words of Jesus

Christ to His Church included the indictment: ‘I know thy works’ seven times! I know thy works, I know

thy works, I know thy works, I know thy works, I know thy works, I know thy works, I know thy works. All

things are laid bare before Him of whom we “must” give account. How can we even deceive ourselves

why we don’t have revival? It is all around us and in our life’s, hidden sin! There is no escaping that awful

and dreadful day Church! God is crying out to you: “I know your works” be zealous therefore and

repent. Many will say that we are ready to be judged in North America because of the wicked heathen

and unbelievers who are blaspheming the name of God. No! Judgement is coming to America because

of a back-slidden, lukewarm, professing church. There is preaching needed that will confront a church

that is comfortable in her sins. I would quote to you the saintly Finney: “Away with your milk and water

preaching of the love of Christ that has no holiness or moral discrimination in it, away with the

preaching of Christ not crucified for sin.” On this very truth a highlander minister stated once: “Bring

me a God of all mercy but no just, bring me a God of all love but not righteous, and I will have no

scruples in calling Him an idiot of your imagination.” Alas, the American Church has embraced such a

“idiot” conception of God. Is that hard to hear? It will sound much harder to hear the words from the

judgement bar of God: “depart from me, I never knew you.” We are afraid to disturb people these days,

we are afraid to preach against sin, we sit in church and are not moved. The word’s of Alan Redpath

ring sadly true today: “In light of the cross of Christ, is it not a scandal the way we live?”

A ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

What will it take for the Church of America to truly follow God in denying self and taking up the Cross

of Christ? David Ravenhill responded in this way: “I’m hoping personally for some sort of an economic

collapse. I know that sounds very extreme, but I believe it’s going to take this to bring the church back to

God. The prophet Isaiah said, ‘When the earth experiences Thy judgments the inhabitants of the world

learn righteousness. Though the wicked is shown favor, it does not learn righteousness.’ (Isaiah 26:9) We

have known the continued favor and blessing of God in this nation for years yet continue to live selfish,

self-centered lives. God has simply become a means to an end. We have made Him to be the divine

butler who stands waiting to meet our every whim and fancy. It’s time for the church to be ‘about our

Father’s business.’ Please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not wanting to go through another “great

depression” but I fail to see any other way.”

Ron Lagerquist shares these sobering words: “Revelation 18 describes an economic earthquake that will

hit America with such force it will make the Great Depression seem like child's play. It will be utter

destruction in which she will never rise again. A judgment from the hand of God because of a nation

that is seeped in adultery and rebellion. A nation that began as a Light on a Hill became a corrupting

stench rising up to the altar of the Living God. The moral fabric that would allow America back on its

feet from the Great Depression will not be present in this massive economic earthquake. The Beast she

rides will devour her flesh so he may rise to absolute world power, filling the vacuum created by

America's fall. The only warning will be the prophetic voices of the faithful saints of God who will be

hated and despised by the world. For the Harlot will be drunk on the blood of the saints. In her

intoxication, her mind will be numb to her impending doom. A head–on collision with a wrathful God.

If you have built your life on the sands of the kingdom of this world, your hopes, your dreams, your

energies and aspirations will mingle with the smoke that will rise up from the utter destruction of

Babylon.”

AMERICA WILL NOT REPENT

America has been warned relentlessly by many over the last 50 years. One of those voices is David

Wilkerson who spoke these words over 20 years ago: “This nation has not repented but, rather, has

turned its back on the Word of the Lord, and now God will do what He said He would do. Only a

remnant now follows the Lord with all their hearts, living in holy surrender and full communion with

Him. There has been no deep heart repentance. We have leaders who are thought of as ‘Christians’ who

publicly confess they don’t even know what it means to be born again. Only lip service is given to God,

and the popular evangelical Christianity of this hour is nothing but political and lukewarm, at its best.

This nation, its government, its churches, gives the Lord Jesus mere acknowledgment but not heart

repentance. We have great moral indignation against poverty, abortion, crime, injustice, and that is

commendable but we have not enthroned Jesus Christ as Lord and King in our hearts. Millions claim to

be Christians, yet only a very small number are entering the straight gate. If God favors America with

more time and prosperity, it will only increase the wickedness and rebellion, making judgement even

more certain. God promised to preserve America only if it turned from its evil. What more could He

have done for America? Could He have been any more patient then He has been? ‘I have spread out my

hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own

thoughts.’ The unthinkable is going to happen to America and parts of Canada, and few will believe it.

The prophets of peace and prosperity will reply, ‘God has promised to keep us from the day of wrath,

because we have kept the word of His patience.’ This nation has not kept God’s word, nor has the

church. Like in the church of Sardis, there are only a few who have not defiled robes of white. Don’t

listen to the prophets of peace and prosperity. They are deceived. They have not heard the true Word of

God. They are not of the spirit of Elijah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah. They have not been weeping

and travailing over the sins of the nation and God’s people. Who is close enough to God to hear the

sounding of His trumpet? The word of judgement has never been heard or accepted by the church or its

leaders. Elijah stood alone for God before 400 prophets of Baal. Jeremiah stood alone before the entire

religious systems of Judah and Israel. The greatest enemies to his message were the leaders in God’s

house.”

Does this shake you believer? Does it move you? Oh I cry with the godly Duncan Campbell for this land:

“I would to God that a wave of real godly fear gripped our land.” How calloused we have become, how

dry eyed in light of such moral and spiritual collapse in our countries.

A TRUMPET SOUND

Again hear the voice of David Wilkerson warning america in the last days: “America is going to be

destroyed by fire! Sudden destruction is coming and few will escape. Unexpectedly, and in one hour, a

hydrogen holocaust will engulf America -- and this nation will be no more. America has sinned against

the greatest light. Other nations are just as sinful, but none are as flooded with gospel light as ours. God

is going to judge America for its violence, its crimes, its backsliding, its murdering of millions of babies,

its flaunting of homosexuality and sadomasochism, its corruption, its drunkenness and drug abuse, its

form of godliness without power, its lukewarmness toward Christ, its rampant divorce and adultery, its

lewd pornography, its child molestations, its cheatings, its robbings, its dirty movies, and its occult

practices. In one hour it will all be over. To the natural mind it is insanity to come against a prosperous,

powerful nation and cry out, "It's all over! Judgment is at the door! Our days are numbered!" The

Church is asleep, the congregations are at ease, and the shepherds slumber. How they will scoff and

laugh at this message. Theologians will reject it because they can't fit it into their doctrine. The pillow

prophets of peace and prosperity will publicly denounce it. I no longer care. God has made my face like

flint and put steel in my backbone. I am blowing the Lord's trumpet with all my might. Let the whole

world and all the church call me crazy, but I must blow the trumpet and awaken God's people. Believe it

or not, America is about to be shaken and set aside by swift and horrible judgments. Many other praying

believers who have been shut in with God are hearing the very same message - ‘Judgment is at the door!

Prepare, awaken!’”

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

This sobering poem was written recently by Judge Roy Moore in America: “America the Beautiful, or so

you used to be. So many worldly preachers tell lies about our Rock, Saying God is going broke so they

can fleece the flock. We've kept God in our temples, How callous we have grown. When earth is but His

footstool, And Heaven is His throne. You think that God's not angry, That our land's a moral slum? How

much longer will He wait Before His judgement comes? How are we to face our God, From Whom we

cannot hide? What then is left for us to do, But stem this evil tide? If we who are His children, will

humbly turn and pray; Seek His holy face and mend our evil way; Then God will hear from Heaven

And forgive us of our sins, He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within. But, America the

Beautiful, If you don't then you will see, A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee.”

The only hope for America is if she seeks God in prayer on her knees. The church of Jesus Christ in

america need to humble herself before a holy God of whom we will all bear account of all the deed

done in the body whether good or bad. God has warned His people over and over again will we not

hear? will we not “unplug” our ears all face the reality of our sins and waywardness?
